Alabama Ministers,
Greetings in Jesus Name!
I am connecting with you concerning questions about the upcoming events scheduled for the United Pentecostal Church of Alabama. At this point, it is our intent to go forward with our scheduled events with the understanding that some will be unable to participate due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, we feel that it is imperative to push forward as much as possible at this time.
My main focus is the three large scale meetings that are swiftly approaching:
- Alabama Youth Convention will convene on January 29-30, 2021. It will be held at the Sheraton in Birmingham. The Grand Ballroom can seat up to 600 with required social distancing policies. A cap of 600 has been placed on pre-registration and there will be NO registration at the door. Registration is currently underway. Click here for AYC Registration
- Frontline Men’s Conference will convene on February 5-6, 2021. It will be held at New Life in Birmingham, where over 350 can be seated with social distancing requirements. Registration is also underway for this meeting. Click here for Men’s Conference Registration.
- Alabama Ladies Conference is in the final planning stages. The Bessemer Civic Center will not be open at least through March, so plans are being finalized for a different venue in the Birmingham area. Information will be forthcoming soon.
We encourage as many as can to register and participate in these events.
These facilities will be prepared and sanitized according to recommendations from the health department. Mask policies will be followed as prescribed by state recommendations. At the time of this writing, masks are required in all public places, hallways, and lobbies. The wearing of masks within the arenas will be left to the discretion of the individual. It can be removed for praise services and conversations if so desired. This is the policy of the Sheraton and we will follow it in all venues.
Sectional Strategic Growth Meetings, Sectional Conferences, Minister’s License Seminar, Purpose Institute, Bible Quizzing, and all other scheduled meetings will go forward as planned. For more information, see the Alabama District Calendar.
Please continue to be considerate if you have symptoms of COVID or have been exposed within 10 days of these events. We must balance caution with our determination to hold these events. We will continue to be hybrid in our approach, with these events also being posted in an online format.
Please be in prayer for our state as we go forward. We have survived a difficult year, but God has not called us to survival, but to revival. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us and we will help as much as possible.
Yours for revival,
J. Stanley Davidson
Alabama District Superintendent
